    To support our rapid growth, we're seeking a dynamic Business Development Executive, Public Sector.

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales, you will be responsible for growing cooperative contract revenue across both new and existing SLED participating agencies (members).As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities in the public sector.

    You will work with government agencies, educational institutions, and other public entities to sell cooperative contracts that offer best value, quality, and efficiency.

    You will also build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the public sector.

    You will be responsible for driving the sales cycle to completion before transitioning the account to the Member Success team for implementation.

    Building relationships with senior leadership at the participating agency (member) as well as expanding your relationship with department heads in procurement, IT, HR, and others.

    These relationships will be paramount to your success as you interact with new members to generate new business opportunities and up-sell to expand revenue across existing members.

    ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute sales strategies and plans to achieve revenue and growth targetsPrepare and deliver effective presentations and proposals that demonstrate the value proposition and benefits of cooperative contractsNegotiate contract terms and conditions with customers and suppliersLead all aspects of deal execution, including strategic and financial assessment, structuring, and negotiationProvide excellent customer service and support throughout the contract lifecycleCollaborate with internal teams such as marketing, legal, finance, and operations to ensure customer satisfaction and contract complianceMaintain accurate and timely records of sales activities and pipeline in SalesforceAttend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company and its cooperative contractsStay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in the public sectorQualificationsBachelor's degree in business, marketing, public administration, or related fieldMinimum 8 years of sales experience with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the public sector, preferably with cooperative contracts or similar solutionsProven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goalsStrong skillset in developing and presenting programs to leaders of public agenciesDemonstrated history of working with brand image and promoting value through customer experienceAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsExperience with CRM software, Salesforce preferredExperience with Microsoft Office applications preferred Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholdersKnowledge of public procurement processes, policies, and regulationsSelf-motivated, results-oriented, and customer-focusedWillingness to travel up to 50% of the timeBenefitsCompetitive compensation package Free individual employee medical coverage Company subsidized dental and vision coverage Dollar for dollar 401(k) match up to 6% of your salary with immediate vesting Company-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability coverage Employee Assistance Program to support your wellbeing and mental health $1500 annual stipend for undergraduate/graduate college courses; $500 annual stipend for continuing education courses/certifications Free snacks and beverages on-siteBrand new, state-of-the-art, tech-enabled work environment in downtown NashvilleFlexible/hybrid work culture
