    Job Description

    Objective :
    As a Senior Mortgage Underwriter, you will oversee and make critical decisions on complex mortgage loan applications. Your expertise in underwriting will be pivotal in managing risks and ensuring the financial stability of the lending portfolio.


    Responsibilities :
    Review and approve mortgage loan applications, focusing on high-value or complex cases.

    Mentor and provide guidance to junior underwriters and underwriting staff.

    Develop and update underwriting policies based on current market trends and regulatory changes.

    Work closely with risk management teams to identify potential areas of risk and implement mitigation strategies.

    Handle exceptions and complex loan scenarios, providing final decisions and recommendations.


    Qualifications :
    Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications LAPP, SAR, DE is a plus.

    5+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, with a proven track record in handling complex loan scenarios.

    Extensive knowledge of lending regulations and underwriting policies.

    Exceptional analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
