    Job Description

Job DescriptionCASA & CASA IN ACTION SYNOPSIS:

With over 122,000-lifetime immigrant, and working-class members, the CASA family of organizations (CASA (c3), CASA in Action (c4), and CASA in Action PAC) is the foremost immigrant organization in the mid-Atlantic region and a national leader in supporting immigrant families and ensuring that all individuals have the core supports necessary for full participation in society.

    DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS:

CASA in Action PAC – a sister organization to CASA in Action – expands our capacity to impact elections and grow political power. Together, CASA in Action with CASA in Action PAC has mobilized hundreds of thousands of Latinos, Black, and other voters of color to the polls through targeted data-driven electoral programs throughout Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, and South Central Pennsylvania. CASA in Action PAC conducts robust electoral programs, integrating micro-targeted communication outreach, calls, texts, and socially-distanced door canvassing to expand voter participation.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

CASA in Action is seeking a full-time Voter Engagement Coordinator to lead our daily field operation activities, primarily by building and maintaining a strong team of canvassers to increase the share of the electorate with voters from working families and immigrant communities through direct voter contact work.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing leaders within their team. They will also succeed in engaging registered voters and voting-eligible community members to bring about real people-powered political movements. They will be committed to getting results in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing input or quality, and demonstrate a deep commitment to racial equity.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Voter Engagement Coordinator, who is based in the Northern Virginia area, Virginia, and reports to the Regional Voter Engagement Manager, is responsible for the following:

Prepare all canvassing equipment and supplies prior to launch. Lead all launch and debrief meetings with the assigned canvass team. Stay updated on election cycle news and program changes to disseminate information to your team.
    • Team Supervision: Lead implementation of daily work for assigned canvass team and monitor on-field progress to goals, including knock and conversation rates. Ensure your team, at all times, has the equipment and supplies needed to complete their work. Coach team, while in the field, on voter engagement best practices and candidate/issue talking points. Provide additional feedback and on-field training to improve the performance of underachieving team members. Respond to all on-field emergency and non-emergency incidents that may occur and report immediately to the Regional Voter Engagement Manager.
    • Voter Engagement: Conduct daily voter contact work; persuade and mobilize voters to turn out to vote and inform them of the voting process. Enter and report conversation data accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Team Outcome Reports: Report daily team outcomes, qualitative and quantitative, using internal reporting systems. Track individual canvasser attendance and time sheets and report them to the Regional Voter Engagement Manager.
    • Additional Tasks: Assist the Regional Voter Engagement Manager with canvasser recruitment and conduct pre-screen interviews with new recruits to provide the Regional Voter Engagement Manager with recommended canvassers for final interviews. Track and distribute all assigned canvassing equipment and supplies using the internal reporting system. Report to the Regional Voter Engagement Manager, when equipment and supply inventory is low and additional items are needed. Identify and coordinate events that benefit our campaign efforts. Collect media content while engaging with voters to share with Communications staff and lift up the voices of impacted voters. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
