Job Overview


The Family Engagement Coordinator is the gatekeeper of LAMB's community engagement, providing a warm and welcoming environment for students and their families.

The Coordinator is crucial in helping LAMB successfully engage and support our students' families. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Family Engagement.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate the implementation of best practices for school family engagement.
  • Support the planning and coordinating of family engagement events, including welcome events for new families, family workshops, enrollment activities, and community events.
  • Keep equitable access preferences, SPED families, and minority groups wellinformed and connected.
  • Create, update, and maintain Family Services caseloads regularly (needs, goals, interventions, and referrals).
  • Maintain and support monthly followup program and data collection on the Family Services caseload and school engagement activities in general.
  • Support the Family Services Director to perform and document:
  • Home visits
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations to fulfill the needs of LAMB's community in general and Equitable Access families in particular.
  • Support Family Services collaboration efforts with other LAMB administration teams (Building Operations, Student Support Team (SST), Academic team) to support LAMB families' specific needs.
  • Support the Bullying Prevention Team by coordinating efforts with SST and the academic team.
  • Organize, coordinate, and document the LAMB Volunteer initiative.
  • Monthly participation in at least two community activities during extra hours.
  • Participate in activities shared among administrative staff, including arrival and dismissal duty, evacuation/fire drills, etc., as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or five years of experience performing the duties and responsibilities associated with this position
  • Case management experiences with atrisk populations
  • Mental health and/or social work services experience is highly appreciated
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Strong organizational, problemsolving, computer, and data collection skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to parent, staff, and student needs and information
  • Experience working in a school or community service/outreach setting preferred

Schedule: 12-month full-time position (8:00 am - 4:15 pm)


Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience, ranging from $50,000-$70,000.
