    Description


    Our client, a leading manufacturer specializing in tools and equipment for electrical contractors, is seeking a senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team.

    With a focus on creating products that enhance efficiency, speed, and safety for contractors, this role plays a crucial part in product development and improvement.


    Responsibilities:


    Design and engineer new products tailored to the specific needs of electrical contractors, covering areas such as cable pulling, conduit bending, and material handling.

    Conduct thorough analysis of designs using engineering techniques, simulations, and testing to ensure functionality, durability, and manufacturability.
    Lead and participate in the prototype and development phases of new products from concept through to market release.
    Address technical issues and challenges with existing products post-launch, providing solutions and improvements as necessary.
    Support sales personnel by providing technical expertise and assistance with customer inquiries.


    Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    Experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment.
    Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts is advantageous.
    Proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D solid modeling techniques is required.
    Familiarity with 2D CAD Software such as AutoCAD or DraftSight is preferred.
    Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.


    Skills:
    Ability to perform engineering analysis and calculations related to strength, gear drives, fatigue life, etc.
    Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including welding (manual and robotic), sheet metal fabrication, machining, metal casting, and coatings.
    Proficient in interpreting and working with assembly tolerances.
    Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
    Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
