Spear Bio is a young, well-funded and rapidly growing start-up company based in Woburn, Massachusetts.
We are focused on bringing to market a novel ultrasensitive immunoassay platform with the ability to analyze very small sample volumes.
The commercial focus of the company is on supporting life sciences, clinical, and academic research. Our platform offers best-in-class sensitivity, lab-to-lab consistency, and flexibility.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development and Commercial Strategy, the Business Development Lead (NBL) will have commercial and relationship responsibilities for Spear Bio's customers, partners, and distributors who implement the SPEAR immunoassay platform.
The NBL will lead the execution of customer facing projects for early access customers (EAs) and Key opinion leaders (KOLs) to evaluate and adopt the platform pre- and post- product launch.
The candidate should have strong experience in the fields of neurodegenerative biomarkers, clinical research, and bioanalytical techniques.IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST CLICK ON THIS LINK:
Responsibilities:
Business Development Lead
Develop and Maintain target account list of KOLs and Early Access Customers. Work with senior leadership to prioritize this list.
Develop and drive execution strategy of platform adoption pre- and post-product launch.
Relationship management with key accounts and drive collaborative and sales contract negotiations and long-term planning with customers.
Coordinate relationship with distribution partners and drive operational process for supporting distributor, analyzing sales and opportunity pipeline, and meeting of specific milestones.
Partners with Application Development team on customer strategies and development of key marketing / commercial assets like presentations, app notes, and product flyers.
Becomes a content expert and thought leader on key products and applications and represent Spear Bio at conferences and symposiums.
Participates and leads asset generation like app notes and articles.Develop business cases for each customer engagement and organize and measure customer engagements by size of opportunity potential and strategic value.
Create sales / customer adoption goals and present out progress in regular commercial review meetings.Work with Product Management, Marketing, and Application Development on product launch strategy – specifically informing the commercial strategy for product launch.
RequirementsBS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related. Relevant MS/PhD/MBA.
5-8 years' experience sales, business development, or application or research in academic, pharma, and/or clinical research with a specific
focus on neurology.
Ability to travel (up to 25%)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, oral and written
Autonomous, able to make sound business decisions consistently
Strong work ethics, with self-starter mindset
