    Job Description

    Job Description

JCC Greater Boston is seeking a tennis camp counselor. The Tennis Camp Counselor provides hands-on support within this skills development camp under the guidance of the Tennis Pro. This position provides personalized instruction and guidance to our campers, who will learn the fundamental techniques of tennis, including proper grip, footwork, stroke production, and game strategy. As part of this dynamic team, the successful candidate will enhance each camper's tennis skills. He/She/They will also work alongside other camp counselors to ensure a safe and fun environment for the campers. JCC Greater Boston is a vibrant, welcoming workplace with a strong feeling of teamwork and a shared sense of making a difference.

JCC Greater Boston is deeply committed to valuing and celebrating the uniqueness of each constituent. We welcome staff and participants from diverse backgrounds. While being proudly Jewish, we strive in every way to provide an open and welcoming setting for all, irrespective of personal practices, beliefs, or background. We are guided by JCC Greater Boston's core values — Belonging, Joyfulness, Collaboration, and Transformation — which resonate with many who do not identify as Jewish.

A Tennis camp counselor doesn't need to have strong tennis skills or be an experienced tennis player. He/She/They must like children and be willing to guide them through a carefully designed program, boosting confidence and tennis skills. The full season is June 17- August 19, 40 hours per week. While we prefer candidates who are available all summer, we have the option for candidates to work one week or more. The camp day is 8:30 AM – 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

This position will pay in the range of $15 - $18 an hour as a starting salary. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the hours the employee will work, the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity. Additionally, we offer complimentary access to the JCC Greater Boston facility in Newton – offering indoor swimming, classes, and workout facilities.
