Description

Responsibilities:


  • Together with a cocounselor and a high school intern, ensure the health and safety of TEAM Summer campers throughout their entire day, including arrival, departure, transitions, activities, lunch, and swimming.
  • Plan fun and education activities in onehour blocks throughout the day, including the implementation of Summer Brain Gain and SMART Moves.
  • Establish and enforce group norms using a positive approach to behavior management.
  • Communicate with children's parents/caregivers daily to provide an update on how the child's day was spent and any achievements made.
  • Serve as a positive role model to campers and ensure that they have FUN

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (JLM Boys & Girls Club can help obtain)
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Clear, effective communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change
