- Certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in information technology projects, with a focus on technical systems analysis and requirements solicitation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and lifecycle processes, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles and practices.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Role will require a person that can get up to speed quickly and take the lead on driving the project.
- Duties of this position include gathering and analyzing requirements from stakeholders, evaluating existing systems, and proposing innovative IT solutions.
- Business analysts collaborate with development teams, ensuring that projects align with organizational objectives.
- They create detailed documentation, such as functional specifications and workflow diagrams, to guide the development process.
- Additionally, they conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments.
- Adaptable and detail-oriented, IT business analysts facilitate effective communication between business units and IT departments, contributing to the successful implementation of technology solutions.
- Solicit, understand, and document customer's technical business requirements, processes, and workflows.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to elicit and clarify requirements.
- Develop written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows using tools such as use cases, user stories, flowcharts, and diagrams.
- Lead the development and validation of non-functional technical specifications based on the gathered requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and development teams to determine the technical and operational feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Ensure that the proposed solutions align with business objectives, architectural standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, system analysts, and production support staff throughout the project management lifecycle.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, presenting findings, recommendations, and project updates in a clear and concise manner.
- Work with the development team to test the functionality of implemented solutions and ensure that they meet the business needs and technical specifications.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies found during testing, collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to implement corrective actions.
- Recommend and institute business system analysis best practices, tools, and methodologies to standardize deliverables and procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in business analysis and project management.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business analysis processes.
