    The position is based in Chicago, IL. Start Date: May 2024

    Role Description & Responsibilities:

    As a Data Engineer, you will have a unique opportunity to support the strategic decisions of the company, as well as deliver tangible impact and value creation through data. The role will work closely with members of the senior leadership team at Monarch Collective to construct extensible data flows from disparate sources to generate key metrics to guide business decisions.

    You will be responsible for the following activities:

    • You will be architecting, implementing and maintaining the data lake and leveraging various reporting platforms to enable decision making across the portfolio companies.
    • You will build ETLs to ingest data into the data warehouse and data lake, as well as end-user facing reporting applications
    • You will work with the leadership team to define analytics requirements and then deliver flexible, scalable, end-to-end solutions
    • You will have an opportunity to work with emerging technologies while driving actionable insights end-to-end: business requirements, data modeling, ELT, metadata, reporting, and dashboarding
    • Close coordination with the senior leadership team on a day-to-day basis and ability to clearly communicate complicated data infrastructure concepts is a must.
    • Support for other ad hoc strategic data projects and initiatives
    • The Data Engineer will report to the Vice President of Product & Analytics.

    Qualifications:

    • 6+ years of experience with data modeling and flows, SQL, ELT (i.e., DBT), and Snowflake.
    • Specifically, you should have experience modeling data using star or snowflake schema patterns.
    • 6+ years of experience with deploying production software and constructing modules and packages using Python
    • You should have expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets that change over time.. Experience with statistical models or machine learning is a plus.
    • You should be passionate about working with large unstructured datasets and helping set the vision for the overall data strategy
