- Plans, designs, and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks such as site grading and drainage design; access road design; erosion and sediment pollution control design; stormwater management design; preparation; and permitting.
- Undertakes technical and feasibility studies.
- Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with team members.
- Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
- Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Performs work under guidance from professional engineering staff.
- Handles basic to moderate issues and problems but will refer complex issues to more experienced staff.
- Possesses strong working knowledge of civil engineering design tasks and a positive attitude.
- Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules.
- Performs moderate to complex civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to staff with less experience.
- Mentor, guide and check the work of less experienced staff.
- Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Adhere to safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients.
- Travel to other offices/meet with clients/attend project-specific meetings.

Physical requirements of this position include the ability to hike moderate distances through unimproved terrain, utility rights-of-way, in remote areas, etc. in various temperatures and weather conditions. Ability to hear and visualize potential hazards during fieldwork or site visit situations.
