    Position Summary:


    The Perinatal Break Nurse will provide effective coverage for a variety of roles in Perinatal Services, including covering for clinical staff nurses, patient care coordinators and scrub techs as needed.

    Ensures effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to assist in the development and implementation of plans of care for assigned patients, ensuring the coordination of care between other disciplines and support staff.

    Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient ensuring quality continuum of care.

    Acts as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit.

    Salary Range:
    Hourly Rate Minimum $56.01 Midpoint $66.45 Maximum $76.89


    Required Qualifications:
    Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

    All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

    Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

    Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English

    Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

    Minimum of 2 years' experience in Perinatal Services

    AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (required within 6 months of hire)

    Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills


    Licenses and Certifications:
    Advanced Cardiac Life Support(Required)

    Basic Life Support(Required)

    Neonatal Resuscitation Program(Required)

    Registered Nurse(Required)


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Bachelor of Science, Nursing

    Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements

    Previous experience working as a clinical lead or charge nurse

    Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families

    Demonstrated experience scrubbing in surgical procedures
