Dynavac is a capital equipment manufacturing company in search of an experienced Sr. Subcontracts Buyer to join our team at our headquarters in Hingham, MA (south of Boston). Weiss Technik NA is a locally managed company that has grown to employ more than 500 individuals in the USA and is part of Weiss Technik Global, which employs over 1,700 individuals around the world. We are also part of the very successful, financially sound, and globally active technology company – Schunk Group – which employs about 9,000 individuals around the world.

Salary is as shown ($90,000-$110,000) ,but we are open to discussion.

The buyer will develop a strategy and be responsible for procuring machined, fabricated parts and electronic box builds to ensure the highest quality parts are delivered when needed, at the best cost. This is a highly visible and important role to support the company's continued success and exceptional growth.

The ideal candidate for this position will have technical working knowledge of machine shop operations, machining equipment and electronic processes and certification requirements, Successful candidates should possess a familiarity with machining various raw material types to establish best sourcing methods and achieve best total landed cost for requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategy for large and small machined parts.
• Actively manage machined parts and electronic box build suppliers
• Create "Statements of Work" to describe the work to be performed when purchasing larger complex systems such as chamber assemblies.
• Manage cost down road maps
• Visit suppliers to become familiar with their operations (local/domestic)
• Work with Quality, Engineering. Production Planning and other related departmental resources to ensure customer and production planning requirements are met.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years' experience in the procurement of low volume, high mix precision machined/fabricated parts and custom electronic box builds for a manufacturing environment
• Experience in manufacturing for Aerospace would be ideal
• Strong understanding of manufacturing costs and quoting/estimating manufacturing times utilizing quoting tools
• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline preferred
• Strong understanding of ERP systems (Epicor or SAP a plus)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Lean certification and experience a plus
• Experience with 3D Modeling Software i.e.;. AutoCAD/Desk, SolidWorks
• Possess the ability to read and decipher prints, drawings
• Supplier Audit and Evaluation experience a plus
• Ability to work independently and within a group

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ordinary requirements found in an office work environment with frequent work on the manufacturing shop floor.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
• The employee sometimes works in an open shop environment with no air conditioning and is seasonally exposed to heat.
