    We are seeking a full-time Technical Sales Representative to drive sales and expand the customer base in the West Coast region. This role is an entry level sales position ideal for any candidate who wants to gain commercial experience in sales and have the opportunity to participate and work closely with the marketing department as well. This position will report to the Director of Sales who has 38 years of tenure selling in the life science and medical device markets. This person must have a high sense of urgency to give clients a positive experience. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a Life Sciences, such as Molecular Biology or Genetics. Some experience in a customer facing role, or has the aptitude and attitude to develop superior customer facing skills is desired.

    Responsibilities:

    • Understanding of the entire sales process, CRM system, and procedures.
    • Build, secure, and expand customer relationships with assigned accounts.
    • Develop solutions for assigned account's needs.
    • Develop & Create New Accounts and Sales Opportunities from our three products in our flagship product line for collecting DNA samples, as well as our newer Microbiome product line within assigned geography.
    • Develop & execute business plans focused on specific account projects such as tradeshows, channel partner events, internal events, special projects, etc.
    • Develop & execute on selling campaigns for targeted account list.
    • Provide assigned accounts with Quotes, Proposals, and Presentations for specific opportunities as needed.
    • Work with Distribution Partners to support and create new opportunities at Target Accounts.
    • Travel as needed to assigned account(s) locations for client presentations and team sales meetings.
    • Focuses on client results, retention, renewals, upsells & referrals from existing B & C accounts.
    • Qualifies all new leads from Marketing Campaigns.
    • Works in partnership with the appointment setter, Marketing, and the Business Development Manager on the east coast as needed to develop KOLs in product application niches and execute commercial strategy.
    • Meet/exceed the Annual Sales Target.

    Requirements:

    • Must have at least an undergraduate degree in a Life Sciences (e.g. Molecular Biology, Genetics, etc)
    • Willingness to learn and follow a proven sales process.
    • Basic understanding of sales and lead generation concepts.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools.
    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, communicating effectively on the phone and video.
    • Strong skills in database management, working with CRM systems a plus.
    • Prior Sales/Telesales experience is a strong plus.
    • Web scraping and lead generation skills a plus.

    Key Performance Metrics and Expectations:

    • 40-50 quality calls per day to build and invest in building relationships in 2 verticals (DNA/microbiome).
    • 5-10 virtual presentations per week.
    • Follow the SOP Sales Process Manual.
    • Contacts, calls, consults, & closes tracked weekly.
    • Weekly distributor follow up calls.
    • Grant database call list generation for nurture campaigns – 200 per week.
    • On site visits with clients in assigned territory as needed, minimum of once/quarter.
    • Project Charter assignments for marketing campaigns.

    Location and Attendance Requirement:

    • This position is based at our Pleasanton headquarters, and attendance at the office is a fundamental requirement for adequate training and successful performance of your duties. This role is not eligible for remote work or telecommuting arrangements.
    • Your presence in the office is crucial to maintaining effective collaboration, fostering team spirit, and meeting business objectives.
