    Job Description

    We are seeking Security Officers to become an integral part of our team. The selected individuals will patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons. We are looking to hire staff for our accounts in the City of Chicago, specifically in the downtown area.

    Inner Valor Security Officers are expected to embody versatility, diversity, and a receptiveness to advanced training in order to develop a mastery of security and the site locations we protect.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel and guests
    • Protect property and equipment
    • Manage access control to client facilities
    • Monitor CCTVs
    • Patrol client property
    • Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
    • Immediately respond to emergencies and actual or perceived threats
    • Act proactively to safeguard personnel and guests from safety hazards such as fire risks, blockage of emergency escapes, leaking water pipes

    ​Qualifications:

    • 18+ years of age
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Exceptional customer service
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Must be able to work at least 20 per week
    • Punctual
    • Reliable transportation access
    • Flexible availability
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Capable of following complex instructions
    • Mandatory participation in screening process including: drug test, physical fitness test, driver's license status, driving record check, and background investigation

    With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include:

    • Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling
    • Possessing the faculty to see, hear, speak, and write clearly
    • Ability to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
    • Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing steps and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain
    • Ability to walk in narrow hallways and up and down staircases
    • Capacity to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and move up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • PERC and 20-hour Basic Security Officer Training certificate
    • Illinois BASSETT certification
    • Prior knowledge of security operations and procedures
    • Associate Degree or higher
