Ignite is seeking a Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Integrator / Data Scientist to support the development of analytic methodologies oriented toward enabling the statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization objectives of an intelligence community client.
The employee will be responsible for advising and managing projects that require working within the Department of Defense and U.S.
The employee shall also provide technical expertise in the appropriate phenomenologies, mission processes, data sources, and analytic disciplines to support intelligence production efforts.
This work will support the understanding of designated events by providing expertise in physics, optics, phenomenology, sensor design, temporal/spatial analytics, and event reconstruction.
The employee will be required to identify and integrate finished intelligence from multiple sources and aggregate the information into a variety of data science models and visualization formulas.
Locations:Primary location is Springfield, Virginia.
Additional locations may include:
Dayton, Ohio; Huntsville, Alabama; Saint Louis, Missouri; and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Duties
:
Interact with analysts, mission partners and others on analytical functionality and exploitation and related support tools;
The employee will interface with necessary internal and external agencies to facilitate collaboration, data, collection, product sharing, and integration of required intelligence.
Support collection planning events, testing, and exercises, to include ground truth testing, development of testing and exercise standard operating procedures, and liaising with DoD program offices.
Deliver a broad range of scientific analysis, technical, and exercise support in the emerging aerospace threats mission area.Provide systems engineering, data expertise, analysis, and integration support including the development of CONOPS/TTPs for operational systems and technical advice, primarily in the form of technical support, experiments, and systems engineering products.
Perform data analytics and develop solutions to use U.S. operational sensor data from various sources and apply it against emerging aerospace threats.Support the assessment of new analytical tools and the necessary standards to facilitate compatibility and greater efficiencies across the tools sets utilized by imagery/geospatial analysts;
Work with minimal guidance and be fully capable of meeting most analytic methodology services without direction;
Collaborate to provide accurate technical information that contributes to synergized analysis that is better than the sum of the individual parts;
Apply mathematical techniques to solve complex problems and develop quantitative based assessments;
Apply scientifically based approaches to help solve complex intelligence problems and issues to include:
statistical data analysis, knowledge discovery, and mathematical modeling;
Provide database consultation, graphical data visualizations, and recommendations for quantitative data selection, intelligence collection & integration;
Work rapidly in a high tempo, high stress environment that often requires multi-tasking.
Job Requirements
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements
:
Master's Degree in a related field preferred;
Attendance in a basic Intelligence Course is preferred;
Previous experience as a GEOINT Analyst in a data driven/statistically driven environment or as a Data Scientist in support of an Intelligence Community mission;
Previous intelligence integration experience a plus;
Previous experience as an Operations Research/Systems Analyst (ORSA) a plus.
Required Skills
:
Familiarity with the US GEOINT enterprise in relation to aerospace threats and can work with the U.S. Intelligence Community, industry, and other government agencies to enable solutions;
Proficiency with multi-sensor phenomenology ;
Matlab, Python, Java, and C expertise to develop the user-facing tools, and understanding of data visualization capabilities;
Experience in developing innovative design or system-related specifications and implementations, ensuring alignment with technical and business architectures;
Experience with the use of enterprise architecture frameworks like DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF);
Ability to understand and assimilate intelligence threat analysis and technical aerospace-related data to produce coherently written analysis suitable for senior leadership;
The ability to analyze complex problems in a clear and concise manner demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy;
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team with good customer engagement skills;
Demonstrated strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively persuade, negotiate and bring consensus among differing opinions and views;
Ability to apply knowledge of analytic tools to develop models, visualize data, and perform a range of analyses (e.g., systems analysis, comparative analysis).
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of statistical analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau or similar tools;
Familiarity with knowledge of GEOINT operations and sensors, which can be applied to satisfy key intelligence questions;
Demonstrated relevant expertise in understanding of statistical/mathematical analysis in order to apply statistical/mathematical techniques to GEOINT;
Demonstrated expertise in employing one or more of the following methodologies:
statistical modeling; experimental design; research design; sampling; clustering; data reduction; confidence intervals; testing modeling, or predictive modeling in support of an intelligence mission;
Demonstrated relevant expertise with analytic methodologies in support of intelligence production;
Proficiency with orbital dynamics tools (e.g., OD++, STK, SOAP, Freeflyer);
Demonstrated expertise with GIS and remote sensing tools such as:
ArcGIS/ArcPro or Boundless Desktop GIS;
Demonstrated proficiency with a programming language such as R, Python or similar.
Security Clearance Required:
Top Secret with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information.
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000, dependent on knowledge, skills, education, and demonstrated abilities.
