    Job Description

    Senior Data Scientist

    Get To Know The Team:

SS&C is looking for a world-class Senior Data Scientist that is hands-on with code, a great mentor to other engineers, and capable of working in a cross-functional team squaring off between business and engineering groups. More than just diagrams, although they are very important

You should be eager to understand our current problems and how they impact our products and engineering teams, and work together with us to continue to build and improve our products and services internally and to our customers. You will work directly with our other architects and our engineer teams to design and build large scale data storage and processing platforms.

Why You Will Love It Here

    • Flexibility: Hybrid Work Model & a Business Casual Dress Code, including jeans
    • Your Future: 401k Matching Program, Professional Development Reimbursement
    • Work/Life Balance: Flexible Personal/Vacation Time Off, Sick Leave, Paid Holidays
    • Your Wellbeing: Medical, Dental, Vision, Employee Assistance Program, Parental Leave
    • Diversity & Inclusion: Committed to Welcoming, Celebrating and Thriving on Diversity
    • Training: Hands-On, Team-Customized, including SS&C University
    • Extra Perks: Discounts on fitness clubs, travel and more

What You Will Get to Do:

    • Lead and demonstrate an eagerness to 'step-up' from being an individual contributor to a do-er coder/software leader.
    • Communicate a technical vision to team members and business stakeholders.
    • Conceive and create Data Architecture Solutions, Data Modeling, open-source data solutions, and utilize cloud-native applications is a must.
    • Work with a global team, SS&C is a truly global organization and development projects are conducted with teams across the globe. E.g., not always a 9-5 role, you are likely to balance your week to communicate with other architects in different time zones
    • Freedom to 'own' and solve complex hard challenges.
    • Work autonomously and execute against a vision instead of a task list
    • Consensus building skills above simple authority-based approaches – e.g., rapport, logical reasoning

    What You Will Bring:

    • Computer Science/Engineer bachelor's degree and at least five years of hands-on software engineering and software architecture experience; or eight years of equivalent work-related experience.
    • Experience in communicating a technical vision to team members and business stakeholders.
    • A passion for Data Architecture and Data modelling schemes.
    • Experience to design, build, and maintain modern cloud native applications and reimagine monolithic applications as microservices.
    • Experience working with multiple agile teams and product owners across our international footprint to ensure consistency of solutions or an acceptable level of divergence of solutions.
    • Ensure the ongoing scalability, security, and maintainability of our products
    • Knowledge of financial services a plus, but a fresh perspective is equally valued. We have lots to do as part of our Lyric modernization initiative and you can't be afraid to get your hands dirty.
    • Experience in Data Architectures, Cloud Solutions, data science would be a plus
