    LHH is looking for an Accounting Manager to work for one of our clients in the city of Chicago, IL. The Accounting Manager will lead our accounting team and manage all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, and compliance efforts. You will play a key role in building the company's financial strategy and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strong foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and a history of driving process improvements in a dynamic business environment.

    The Accounting Manager will have the following responsibilities:

    • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
    • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Prepare and review financial statements, variance analysis, and other financial reports for senior leadership.
    • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate financial projections.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate audits, reviews, and tax filings.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
    • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
    • Evaluate and optimize accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
    • Stay current on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance with new requirements.

    The Accounting Manager will need to have the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA certification preferred.
    • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • Thorough understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Proficiency in accounting ERP software (any larger ERP will be sufficient: D365, SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
    • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • No specific industry experience required, manufacturing/distribution is a plus.

    This posting is a representative sample of the types of roles we typically place with our clients. Depending on the specific client, location, and role, the salary range is estimated to be $100,000 to $125,000 and benefits may include Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, Retirement savings plan with employer match, and opportunities for professional development and advancement within the organization.

    Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year
