- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, variance analysis, and other financial reports for senior leadership.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate financial projections.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate audits, reviews, and tax filings.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Evaluate and optimize accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Stay current on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance with new requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA certification preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting ERP software (any larger ERP will be sufficient: D365, SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- No specific industry experience required, manufacturing/distribution is a plus.
