    Description

    We currently have a small film financing business focused on senior debt. We've used our partner capital to fund $5 million in loans over the past 8 weeks and are currently in the midst of a new fundraise with our brokers. Aside from finance, we also have a sales arm to assist our borrowers in the marketplace. A natural progression for us is to launch a US distribution arm, starting off small like Vertical or Saban, with the end goal of six US theatrical releases annually. Additionally, we will expand into film completion bonds. This job can be remote or hybrid.

    Job Summary: The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization. This includes managing financial planning, risk management, record-keeping, and financial reporting. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to develop and implement strategies that support the company's growth and profitability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's business objectives.
    • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
    • Analyze financial performance and market trends to inform strategic decisions.

    Financial Operations:

    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
    • Manage cash flow, investment strategies, and capital structure.
    • Supervise financial reporting, accounting, tax, and treasury functions.

    Risk Management:

    • Identify and manage financial risks, implementing controls and procedures to mitigate them.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
    • Oversee internal audits and work with external auditors to ensure accurate reporting.

    Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with department heads to support financial planning and performance management.
    • Provide financial insights and guidance to the executive team and board of directors.

    Investor Relations:

    • Manage relationships with investors, analysts, and financial institutions.
    • Prepare and present financial reports and performance updates to stakeholders.
    • Oversee fundraising efforts and capital markets activities.

    Strategic Initiatives:

    • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives with financial analysis and due diligence.
    • Evaluate and implement new business opportunities and revenue streams.
    • Drive cost management and operational efficiency programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of senior financial management experience, preferably within the entertainment industry.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
    • Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and risk management.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and investor relations is a plus.
