The position is located in the office of Information Technology (OIT) in Annapolis, MD.
NATURE AND VARIETY OF WORK

They are not intended to include all of the essential functions of all positions in the class.)Function as a team lead for Operations Server Team to include support of all enterprise infrastructure environments.
Provide backup support to the Operations Server Team to include support of all server and enterprise infrastructure environments.
Assist with server backup and restoration activities to ensure reliability of backups.
Assist with server patching and cyber security threat mitigation and reporting.
Provide higher tier end-user support, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure quality control of related systems and environments.
Implements and maintains purchased or leased software program products; conducts on-the-job training; works closely with OIT customers.
Develop system documentation such as training guides, architectural/interface diagrams or other support documentation.
Technical competency in managing the day-to-day operations of information systems and its interfaces.
Monitor data-center health using existing management tools.
Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of modern techniques in systems analysis, design and project management.
Thorough knowledge of evaluating principles, methods, and tools to organize work, set priorities and determine resource requirements.
Considerable knowledge of management principles and practices, including organizational structure, staffing patterns, and administrative control techniques.
Skilled in customer services techniques to include strong leadership, organizational, and presentation skills.
Skilled in effective written communication, working in groups, and meeting facilitation.
Ability to plan, organize, and conduct systems analyses and to evaluate alternative processes and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain working relationships with customers, vendors and colleagues.
Ability to lead others in the performance of their duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in mathematics, public or business administration, or a related field, including or supplemented by specialized training in electronic data processing, programming, operations and methodologies; and six (6) or more years of experience in electronic data processing systems analysis and design.
Note:
The graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in mathematics, public or business administration, or a related field, including or supplemented by specialized training in electronic data processing, programming, operations and methodologies, maybe substituted on a year-for-year basis with four (4) or more years of experience in electronic data processing system analysis and design, including or supplemented by specialized training in electronic data processing, programming, operations and methodologies, for a combined total of ten (10) or more years of experience in electronic data processing system analysis and design.

Preference given to the following:
Experience programming with modern web technologies
Experience interfacing with customers, gathering requirements, and supporting software products
Experience leading software development projects
Experience with cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services
Experience designing data structures and working with databases in support of software development efforts
Experience with Jira including creating project boards, managing sprints, and leading scrums
