    Description
    S&C Electric Company is an ESOP-owned Chicago-based enterprise.

    The Global Sourcing and Strategic Supply Management Department is responsible for selecting and managing the performance of S&C's global supply base - establishing the agreements and processes for conducting business with suppliers.

    This individual will work with our global sourcing team to provide analytical support.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
    Assist the Sourcing Managers and the Sourcing Analyst with the analysis of information as needed.
    Create and analyze supplier information database to include pricing, annual usage, material, part weight, secondary operations, etc. This includes pulling data from multiple sources and coordinating with suppliers.
    Put together quote packages, quote analysis (including cost breakdown detail), assist with supplier research, and assemble requests for information.
    Assist with putting together raw material market information and analysis.
    Update supplier information in Oracle such as pricing, lead-times, part descriptions, and drawing revision levels.
    Documentation and training as required by the Global sourcing team Work on special projects as needed.

    To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
    Demonstrated analytical skills including development of reports preferably in a manufacturing sourcing environment.
    Demonstrated advanced intermediate or better competence in the use of Excel, Word, and other MS Office software.
    Experience with navigating, updating, and extracting data from an Oracle or similar ERP system.
    Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with excellent communication skills.
    Bachelor's degree preferred. Finance, accounting, and business majors are preferred.


    MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDSStanding:
    Physical demands are those normally associated with an office environment

    Lifting:
    Occasional handling of office supplies such as paper and copier/printer cartridges

    Environment:
    Frequent use of PC keyboard and mouse.
