Salary: $30-40/hour Location: Onsite, following a 3+ hybrid schedule Join a dynamic team dedicated to designing, developing, and integrating complex systems for APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) gas turbine engines at Honeywell Aerospace. Your role will involve devising system solutions that cater to the changing demands of clients. You will take charge of systems and components throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial business development to product retirement. Collaborating across disciplines within the APU Control Systems department, a part of the Engines & Power Systems business, you will drive growth and achieve significant business objectives. As a key team member, your responsibilities will cover all engineering aspects of control systems components or APU line replaceable units (LRU). This comprises design, integration into the control system and application, test planning and execution, test setup and unit conformity, as well as test data management and analysis. Depending on project scope, tasks may involve multiple LRUs/components. Additionally, this role provides support for production, investigations on fielded products, and supplier transitions. Your duties also include strategizing design and qualification efforts, setting and managing deadlines/milestones, collaborating with team leads and project engineers on progress updates, and promptly escalating issues when necessary. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the product and qualification throughout the project, ensuring flawless execution and milestone adherence. Key Responsibilities: - Seeking experienced engineers proficient in product development and systems integration of Aerospace products like sensors, effectors, and control system components used in safety critical systems, including gas turbine engines. This encompasses electrical, electromechanical, fuel, hydraulic, and/or actuation systems. The responsibilities involve, but are not limited to, the following areas: - Design & Integration: - Responsible for approved source list drawings or build-to-print drawings to guarantee supplier compliance with Honeywell standards. - Engage in reconciling LRU requirements with system-level or customer requirements. - Ensure seamless integration of LRU design into a larger system and application, understanding the part's function and its impact on larger engine operations. - Communication / LRU Management: - Manage all communication with suppliers, customers, and project engineering concerning LRU development, encompassing form management, document releases, test scheduling & conformity, and activity status. - Plan and schedule, integrating supplier timelines into the program schedule, and establish LRU program milestones. - Author coordination memos, track/record, and respond to suppliers and customers. - Oversee all aspects of source status elevation (supplier qualification) of LRUs. - Familiarity with governing plans for LRU qualification in application - Develop specific test plans & procedures (QTPs), approve supplier documentation, and integrate it into Honeywell QTPs, incorporating updates based on customer input and final approval. - Execute tests (onsite at supplier if necessary) and manage data reduction. - Set up tests and ensure unit conformity. - Provide similarity arguments, analysis, or test reports to support qualification.
