The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Professor-In-Residence (Physics), College of Engineering [R0140799].
ROLE of the POSITION
The College of Engineering at UNLV invites applications for non-tenure track, Assistant Professor-in-Residence candidates. Dedicated to fostering diversity, we encourage applications from underrepresented groups, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
Our commitment to high-quality teaching and hands-on learning has fueled rapid enrollment growth. This role is pivotal in maintaining excellence in education, enhancing retention, and improving graduation rates. The ideal candidate will excel in teaching a diverse array of physics, and Engineering courses, primarily at the lower levels.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics or equivalent in a relevant field before the appointment begins. Faculty responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, contributing to the development of a new engineering program, assisting in the assessment of undergraduate education, and fostering a dynamic, professional student community. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, with preference given to those with prior college-level teaching experience, particularly in an electronics and/or a mechanical engineering labs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Applicants must have some prior teaching experience. This could be experience as a Teaching Assistant while in graduate school. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
