    Transportation Coordinator-FLO1- Monday Friday

    US10673 Under the direction of the Transportation Manager/ Planner, executes, communicates and supports all inbound and outbound load plans for the distribution center. In addition to performing all functions of the Transportation Coordinator position, the Transportation Coordinator monitors all site related traffic activities to ensure compliance with Corporate Transportations strategic goals and assures that freight is handled expediently with fiscal responsibility. Supports the QVC Difference in the performance of all job duties.

    Section 2: Key Accountabilities

    60% Communicates and coordinates movements of equipment to the yard drivers as needed for the different departments.

    Monitors and records cube utilization through established base lines of cost per unit. Records and transmits data to various USPS/UPS hubs to ensure accurate forecasting arrival and departure information. Completes EDI transmissions to various carriers to assist with 3rd party freight payment companies.

    Uses Scan-Data for opening and closing truck manifests, monitoring loading trucks and manual processing stations, allocating lanes for loading and verifying system integrity within Scan Data manifesting systems. Completes site manifest closings to accommodate financial data required and any discrepancies to weight validation.

    Reviews and carries out scheduled trailer close times for hours scheduled to load. Inputs trailer information into Scan-Data/TMS for the manifest to assign trailers to hubs and dock doors. Records in TMS the load start time and load end time when trailers are ready to be pulled from the door.

    Prepares and publishes weekly and monthly service reports for all areas of outbound and inbound shipments. These include the UPS line haul, RTV shipments, cost avoidance, show control, in bound trailer aging, and prepaid/collect freight concerns.

    30% Communicates and prioritizes initial set up and completion of all inbound and outbound load plans for the Distribution Center.

    Completes bills of lading for USPS drivers and records trailer seal in YMS. Releases trailer in YMS to authorize trailer to be released by Security. Researches any discrepancies.

    5% Routinely resolves complex issues. Proactively identifies trends and resolves problems

    5% Other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.

    Section 3: Critical Skills/Knowledge

    Must be familiar with database programs, access and excel, and strong personal computer operations. (YMS,TMS, i2/JDA. WMS, Scan Data) CFR 49 Knowledge of QVC shipping regulations is required.

    Section 4: Qualifications

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

    1 to 3 Years experience in the same or similar position.

    Experience:

    A minimum of 1 to 2 years of transportation related experience is required of which a broad knowledge of a high volume fulfillment operation has been attained through routing and logistics

    Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.

    Ability to operate general office equipment (fax, photocopier, computer printer) stationed between 3 and 4 feet high.

    Ability to listen and document discussions and meetings.

    Ability to work on elevated surfaces for duration of shift

    Ability to bend, reach and lift above shoulder height for duration of shift

    Ability to stand/sit for duration of shift

    Displays good organizational skills, pays attention to detail and handles multiple tasks simultaneously

    Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service are required to interface with all levels of management and business partners

    Ability to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines

    Attention to detail is critical to performing this position. Must be able to make decisions and handle difficult situations in a high volume and high stress situation.

    Must be able to work assigned shift hours and additional hours when necessary to meet business needs.
