SBRT Parent Council AssociateThe mission of Children's Aid is to help children in poverty to succeed and thrive.
We do this by providing comprehensive support to children, youth, and their families in targeted high-needs New York City neighborhoods.
South Bronx Rising Together, an initiative under Children's Aid situated in the heart of the South Bronx, focuses on supporting cradle-to-career programs that examine systemic issues to inform advocacy strategies.
The year-long associate will assist South Bronx Rising Together with facilitating a series of parent-centered trainings that will support parents as ambassadors of early childhood education services.
Member Duties : The SBRT Parent Council VISTA will prepare training materials and curriculum to support a series of early-childhood focused training for SBRT's parent community. The SBRT Parent Council VISTA will assist in by helping to create the curriculum based on parent needs via survey's they will also create.These trainings will cover the following potential topics: 1. Early-Childhood Enrollment Processes 2. Best Practices for Socio- Emotional Supports for Young Children 3. Intervention Strategies.
The VISTA will complete a needs assessment and create content for a series of trainings for our larger parent community that will better support our parents as ambassadors for early childhood supports and advocates for their local communities.
The SBRT Parent Council VISTA will be responsible for setting up Zoom meetings, continued curriculum assessment, evaluation of programming (surveys, polls, etc.), and providing technical assistance to both parents and SBRT staff.
