    Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)The Stanford Medicine Technology and Digital Solutions team was formed to provide the Stanford Medicine community with the most innovative technology services as efficiently as possible. Led by Michael Pfeffer, CIO and Michael Halaas, Chief Operating Officer and Associate Dean in the School of Medicine, the unified organization brings together the best of the School of Medicine and Stanford Health Care IT to enable new opportunities for groundbreaking work and compassionate care. Together, the Technology and Digital Solutions team will work to break down historic organizational barriers to enable even greater collaboration across Stanford Medicine hospital and clinics, and the entire University.

    The Director of Reporting and Analytics – Accountable Care Operations supports areas such as: Health Plan Operations, Managed Care and Value-Based Care Programs, Clinical Programs and Outreach, Ambulatory Quality, HEDIS and AMP Programs, and Population Health.

    • The person in this role will work closely in collaboration and active engagement of multiple external and internal operational partners to align interests and goals, resolve conflict, and advance the work initiative as well as direct the ACO team's day-to-day and strategic operations across the Analytics portfolio, including tracking dependencies and resolving barriers to promotion of analytics and reporting solutions.

    • This role will be cultivate solid relationships with operational leaders in order to align objectives, present solution recommendations, and gain support for successful reporting and analytics solutions.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience with Health Plan Operations, Accountable Care Organizations, Value-Based Care Contracts, HEDIS and CMS Quality Measurement, and Population Health is considered favorably.

    • Knowledge of the unique regulatory requirements in California Managed Care and Medical/Medicaid Services data compliance, quality measurement, utilization reporting, and financial reporting requirements is highly favored.

    • Ability to manage engagements with Legal and Contracting, Compliance and Privacy, TDS/Analytics leadership, and/or business line leadership.This is a Stanford Health Care job.

    A Brief Overview
    The Director of Reporting and Analytics is responsible for operational reporting from several major core applications (primarily Epic/Clarity) in support of numerous Clinical Programs or Clinical Support Services, including: Revenue Cycle, Finance, Ambulatory Clinic Operations, and Inpatient/Outpatient Clinical Care and Operations. This role requires strong leadership skills for:

    • Collaboration with clinical and operational leaders

    • Coordination and management of reporting analysts (both within the IT and user organizations)

    • Deploying/Facilitating project and data governance processes

    What you will do
    • Provide strategic leadership to standardize reporting capabilities, processes, and resources across the enterprise leveraging data, tools and capabilities of various core application systems in order to effectively balance user needs with costs and service levels,
    • Establish and facilitate enterprise-wide data governance processes that enable clear and consistent data definitions (both in business and technical terms), clear stewardship processes for maintenance of data, and impact analysis capabilities to effectively mitigate reporting impacts of application upgrades, configuration changes, and other data changes.
    • Evangelize this strategy and approach to user organizations and gain support of key leadership.
    • Coordinate with Clinical and Business Analytics and Business Intelligence leadership to align strategies, processes and practices, etc, into a cohesive Reporting and Analytics Strategy and governance process that ensures the user need is fully understood and the optimal solution (i.e., Report, Dashboard, Analytics Data Mart, etc.) is deployed for the greater good of the organization.
    • Monitor planning and status of multiple parallel projects through the entire project lifecycle.
    • Define and monitor operational usability, performance, and stability metrics of reporting solutions.
    • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical constraints while managing expectations of key stakeholders accordingly.
    • Cultivate solid relationships with key project stakeholders in order to align objectives, present solution recommendations, and gain necessary support for successful reporting solutions.
    • Drive definition and periodic revision of standards, methodologies, and procedures for core activities and deliverables of Reporting Team to ensure consistent delivery of quality solutions.
    • Recruit, mentor, and motivate team members.
    • Remain current on BI technologies, trends, and best practices. Evaluate new tools and technologies to drive innovation.
    • Manage vendor relationships and multiple service providers where needed.
    • Understands and applies HIPAA standards and regulations to all areas of work
    Education Qualifications
    • BS/BA in information or business-related field or equivalent work experience
    Experience Qualifications
    • 10 or more years of experience with deployment of operational reporting and/or business intelligence solutions, including 5 or more years of team or project management experience in complex environments.
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Extensive expertise and demonstrated experience with reporting tools (i.e. Crystal Reports); designing and delivering reporting and analytical solutions; data management and governance tools/processes, and the strategic use of information to drive positive business outcomes.
    • Experience building and managing enterprise shared services, Reporting COEs, and governance/standards frameworks.
    • A broad understanding of the healthcare field and related processes is beneficial. Specific experience with patient care (inpatient and outpatient), Census/Patient Progression, Revenue Cycle/Finance, and industry surveys and benchmarks is considered favorably.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong leadership skills within the project team and in the business community.
    • Ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develops and executes strategies, and track and measure results.
    • Ability to build and motivate a team to achieve well communicated expectations.
    • Experience managing large complex report development projects and operations utilizing project management principles and best practices.
    • Ability to complete projects and achieve results in an ambiguous work environment where clear parameters may not exist.
    • Proficient with Reporting and Business Intelligence best practices and education of stakeholders on such concepts in easy to understand, non-technical terms.
    • Ability to apply appropriate amount of rigor commensurate to project risk.

    Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $ $107.92 per hour

    The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
