EchoStarhas an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager. This position can belocated at either our Germantown, MD or Englewood, CO location. Thisposition focuses primarily on U.S. Federal and State Income tax matters andtax provision.
Responsibilities:
Prepares and completes tax returns and reports involved with federal and stateincome taxesAssist in the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returnsand quarterly estimated and extension payment computationsSupport the company's corporate income tax provision process for compliancewith US GAAP/SEC reporting as required by ASC 740Assist with federal and state income tax audits, as necessaryResearch developments in tax law to determine appropriate tax methods andidentify tax savings opportunities for the companySupport various special projects and assist with ad hoc tax assignments asneeded in all areas of tax, including assistance with research &development studies, oversight of the fixed assets tax ledger, tax noticecorrespondence, etc.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's in accounting, finance or related field5+ years of experience in income taxcompliance and income tax accountingreporting under ASC 740
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to exercise judgment with defined procedures and practicesDemonstrate proactive behavior/involvement to make recommendations andfacilitate decision makingCPA certificationMaster of Business in TaxationFamiliarity with OneSource Tax Provision Software, Longview Tax ProvisionSoftware CorpTax and Sage Fixed Assets is a plusAbility to write tax position papers and technical memos to supportCompany's tax positions
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on companyperformance.
