AVA Energy is teaming up with a key player in the Energy sector in the search for a Senior Manager to join their squad. The ideal candidate must bring solid expertise in quantitative analysis of power markets within North America, as well as a proven track record in leading teams.

Responsible for team development focusing on power market fundamentals, commercial analytics, and zonal & nodal modeling.
Leading a group of Analysts handling electricity market modeling and price predictions across the region.
Training and supervising Analysts and Senior Analysts in production cost modeling and coaching problem-solving techniques.
Conduct portfolio risk analysis to assess future market risks.
Manage long-term resource planning and resource procurement analysis.
Maintain profound knowledge of ISO generator interconnection procedures and the dynamic energy market policy & regulatory landscape.
Capable of utilizing fundamental price forecast results to effectively communicate insights to both internal and external stakeholders, aiding in strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

In-depth understanding of power market fundamentals, commodity market, and price risks, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience in production cost modeling (e.g., PLEXOS, PROMOD, Aurora, EnCompass etc.) is essential.
Strong grasp of market trends related to conventional generation, renewables, energy storage, distributed generation, and transmission development.
Demonstrated success in team management and team expansion.
Proficiency in programming, database, and software tools (VBA, Python, Excel, SQL).
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, etc. - Master's degree is a plus.
Proven capability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
A natural mentor and leader with outstanding interpersonal abilities.
