Analytical Services and Materials, Inc.
(AS&M) is looking for a full-time Atmospheric Science Data Center Group Lead to work at the Nasa Langley Research Center (LaRC) under the Research, Science, and Engineering Services (RSES) contract.
Overview
As part of the recently awarded RSES Technical Services Contract at NASA Langley Research Center, AS&M is seeking an Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC) User's Working Group (UWG) Lead.
A Hybrid work environment is a consideration for this position; however, the individual must be able to work onsite at NASA Langley in Hampton, VA for several days each calendar month.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $135,000 and is commensurate with experience and education.Duties & Responsibilities:
Type of work includes, but is not limited to:
Manage all aspects of planning and leading quarterly ASDC UWG & annual Face-to -Face meetings
Communicate and gather feedback from stakeholders such as ASDC UWG members, Program Executives for Earth Science Data Systems (ESDS), and NASA Langley's Science Directorate (SD)
Identify and establish areas of improvement for capturing the annual ASDC UWG recommendations
Ensure that the ASDC UWG plans, goals, and objectives remain aligned and on course
Serve as a Scrum Master for several ASDC Agile Release Train (ART) teams.
Mentor as a Product Owner (PO) on Agile principles, values, methodologies, and best practices
ASDC User Experience and Product Management Team (PMT)
Collect, log, and prioritize solutions for reported ASDC User's issues.
Manage and reduce the backlog of user issues and identify actions for continuous improvement.
Offer requirements feedback to NASA ASDC Technical Leads to support the facilitation, sustainment, and oversight of established workflows and processes.
Meet regularly with NASA technical leads, and as might be requiredUser and Data Services Support
Understand and document ASDC stakeholder data service requirements, as needed for developing practical solutions.
Mentor team members and write documentation that facilitates training and procedural efforts.
Collect input on the discoverability, accessibility, and use of data, and engage new user groups.
Geospatial Analyst and Enterprise Administrator
Administer the ASDC's ArcGIS Enterprise system, including overall architecture, software development, configuration and deployment, management, and sustainment for smooth operation.
Make available to users, various ASDC ArcGIS applications and services that allow for exploring, visualizing, interacting with ASDC data.Qualifications and Experience:
U.S. Citizenship is required.
BS in Computer Science or related engineering or scientific discipline, with a minimum of 5 or more years of relevant experience
Certified Scrum Master is required
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, deemed paramount for conveying results, leading teams, and facilitating long-term research support
Ability to think critically and suitably present technical information to decision-makers
Positive, determined, and always curious, and able to work well in teams
Skill with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ArcGIS Suite, Data Science, Visualizations, Big Data Analytics, Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe), Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, and User Experience (UX) is desired
Other Essential Functions:
Valid driver's license required
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required
