WORK ENVIRONMENT:

After school workers spend majority of their time at the building with the exception of a few community outings.

After school workers are assigned a group of children that they work with after school Monday through Friday. After school workers work seventeen and a half hours to twenty five hours a week.

There is one to one attention often required however most of your time will be spent in a group setting.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supervise children, with safety as a priority while following risk management policies.
  • Participate and encourage positive participation of all students in daily activities and events.
  • Prepare and submit weekly progress notes as required.
  • Attend trainings and regular meetings.
  • Lead organized learning activities students to help develop and strengthen academic, physical and social skills.
  • As needed, differentiate lessons and activities so that they are appropriate to students with various abilities.
  • Review program plans with Supervisor and other staff members for effective program implementation.
  • Instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in cleaning and maintain the facility.
  • Inspect the surrounding area and equipment for safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries.
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with clients, parents and staff.
  • Demonstrate the values of caring, respect, honesty, integrity and responsibility in all of your interactions with participants, members, guests, volunteers and fellow staff.
  • Follow Together Lives Change policies and procedures as it relates to your position.
  • All other relevant duties assigned by your supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


At least six months experience working with therapeutic children, valid driver's license, valid auto insurance policy, in-service cell phone, criminal background check and Tuberculosis clearance.
