    Description

    of Duties and Responsibilities:

    Work under the guidance of the Communications Director to pitch story ideas, schedule and conduct interviews with staff and external partners, create compelling photographs and videos, and write short articles to educate the public about this initiative and highlight the value of biodiversity conservation in Massachusetts.

    Preferred Knowledge and Skills :

    ·Strong interest in the environment, conservation, and science communication

    ·Strong storytelling skills - ability to research, pitch ideas, conduct interviews, create compelling visuals to effectively communicate about complicated topics

    ·Experience in journalism, communications, photography, videography, or digital media

    ·Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software—including Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere

    ·Willingness to learn and work independently.

    ·Comfortable working in outdoor locations throughout the state, including on the water

    ·Exceptional interpersonal skills

    Hours per week : 37.5

    Other relevant information : This position is hybrid and will be based out of the Department of Fish & Game's Boston office.Travel to locations across the state will be necessary for this role, own transportation preferred but not required and travel costs will be reimbursed.
