    OVERVIEW:

    TheUtilitySupervisor reports directly to theMaintenanceManager in fulfilling daily operationsincluding but not limited to: thesupervision of Utility staff membersand coaching employees for optimalperformance andcomplying with all Companypolicies. The Utility Supervisor conducts awalk around the premises prior to beginning the day's activities toevaluate the operation. This will include making documentation ofitems related to safety, checking parkingconditions, random inspection of buses, cleanliness of thelocation, office and shop conditions, and all other items relatedto this evaluation; after which the operations manager shall reportto the manager upon the completion of thisinspection.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Demonstrates and promotes a "SafetyFirst" lifestyle at the location.
      2. Responsible for hiring, coaching,counseling, and issuing discipline to utility staff members throughdocumentation and terminate employees based on observed failureto perform the job in a safe mannerand in accordance with Company and client specifications and justcause.
    2. Ensures that allvehicles are fueled daily and ensures thatall vehicles have daily fluidchecks.
    3. Ensures that fare boxes are probed,emptied daily, and in workingorder.
    4. Oversees majordetailing per client and Companyspecifications.
    5. Ensures that all busesare washed, andthe interior is cleaned nightly.
      6. Responsible fornightly vehicle accountabilityreport.
    6. Oversees the staging of buses toensure that they are parkedcorrectly.
      7. Control ofinventory, ordering cleaning supplies, andmake recommendations on cleaning products.
    7. Makesure that all vehicles are swept clean – no sweeping on the groundat the fuel island.
      8. Make sure all vehicle power switchesare turned off andall windows areclosed.
    8. Reportany defects that are found (lights out, tire airlow).
      9. Maintains an orderly work area. Thework area shall be organized and clean before, during, and afterthe work shift. Also, responsible for shopcleanliness.Other duties asthey relate to the efficient operation at thefacility.

    MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. 2-3 year's previous supervisoryexperience.
    3. 2-3 year's related workexperience.
    4. Experience dealing with the Union andworking in the transportation industrya must.
    5. Valid CDL class B with passenger andairbrake endorsements or ability to obtain a yardpermit.
    6. Must be able to demonstrate tact,diplomacy and possesses good judgment anddiscretion.
    7. Must possess ability to lead andmotivate employees.
      8. Detail oriented, well organized, and possess effective timemanagement skills.General knowledge ofWindows-based computer operating system and Microsoft officepackage.
    8. Mustbe able to work as a member of theteam.
    9. Ability to interact professionally with internaland external customer on all levelsand be able to work well with diversegroups.
    10. Mustbe able to work flexible hours or shifts.

    PHYSICALDEMANDS:

    • 10% of work is accomplished in doorsand in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
      • 90% of work is accomplishedoutside in varying temperature,weather, and humidity conditions; most work is performed alone andin remote locations.Frequently stands and walks; ability to sit for up tothree hours; walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces;normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; ability to liftor handle material weighing up to 50 to75 lbs. without assistance; ability to bend, stoop,kneel, crawl, and crouch; and corrected hearingand vision to normal range; verbalcommunication.
    • Exposure to heavy traffic areas whileperforming the duties of the job.
      • Exposure to considerable amounts ofdust, vehicle fumes and noise.Exposure to cleaning solutions, oils,and other liquids.Must beable to travel for company training, meeting or supportmissions.
