Description
We are looking for a Coordinator in the Bethesda, MD area with a passion for helping military and veteran families.
This is a part-time with option for full-time position with flexible schedule and 75% remote work. The expected hours are a minimum of 25 per week with the option for full-time.The applicant should be able to coordinate a minimum of 8 respite, educational, and health + wellness events per month across the DMV area with an emphasis on services at and around Water Reed.
Responsibilities
- Utilize a predefined budget to plan and host multiple events in the area.
- Assist caregivers of wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans with local resources
- Visit families at Walter Reed once per week.
- Provide outreach efforts in the DMV area.
- Assist with local fundraising efforts.
- Communicate with supervisor on a regular basis
- Administrative reporting in a timely manner
- Attend mandatory weekly team meeting
- 1 hour per week
- Attend yearly fundraising gala
- Possible additional travel for yearly employee retreat
Skills
- Experienced and willing to utilized social media as a means to communicate with recipients.
- Experience using Salesforce preferred
- Empathic communication skills
- Experience with outreach and fundraising preferred
- Comfortable with basic computer skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ethics
- Must be a team player
- Fundraising and outreach experience preffered.
