This role serves as the subject matter expert in Billing and Accounts Receivables, encompassing collections, billing, and aging reconciliation. Attention to detail and expert accuracy are essential for success in this role.
Strong customer service and communication skills are a must, as interaction with various customers within Compass and Microsoft is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial:
Timely and accurately process billing for multiple lines of business, including but not limited to Catering, Event Management, and Audio Visual.
Maintain an up-to-date billing system. Generate and send invoices daily. Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments. Execute billing, collection, and reporting activities in accordance with specific deadlines. Perform account reconciliations. Research and resolve payment discrepancies. Generate and review A/R aging. Process credit card payments. Investigate and resolve customer queries. Process adjustments. Develop a recovery system and initiate collection efforts. Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in person. Assist with month-end closing. Collect data and prepare monthly metrics. Reconcile and book sales for multiple operations. Ensure all clients are informed about their outstanding debts and deadlines. Function as the subject matter expert in Compass Accounts Receivables and the Microsoft billing system.Accurately account for revenue for all Lines of Business (LOBs) and meet Compass and Microsoft deadlines on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Identify opportunities to streamline the billing process and enhance efficiency. Implement best practices for billing and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Mentor and train direct roles supporting Staff accountant. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless billing processes. Provide support during audits by preparing relevant documentation.Data Analysis & Insight:
Identify errors within the billing system and invoices Metric and reporting on rolling recovery/sale filesQualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 3-5 years of experience in full charge accounts receivables.
Ability to effectively communicate with clients at all levels. Diplomacy in collaborating with professional peers from different departments and subordinates. Swift and accurate problem evaluation with the ability to make recommendations. Profound understanding of operational aspects of conference planning, audiovisual operations, and catering. Adaptability to new processes and technology.A team player with exceptional communication and customer service skills, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks/projects, and adept at adapting to last-minute changes and requests.
