Description
Job DescriptionOur client, a prominent player in the trucking industry, is seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity.
This pivotal role offers the potential for permanent placement, providing an ideal pathway for individuals eager to establish a long-term career in finance within the transportation sector.
As the Accounting Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of 2-3 accounting personnel while directly reporting to the President of the company.
Responsibilities:
Ensure accuracy of the general ledger.
Manage and oversee all activities in the accounts payable/receivable functions.
Lead the month-end closing process and ensure timely completion.
Prepare and review journal entries.
Supervise the payroll preparation process, coordinating with external service providers.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in general ledger accounting.
Proven background in the trucking, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or public accounting sectors.
At least 2 years of experience in an accounting leadership role
Preferences:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial management.
Proficiency in financial software and Excel
