- Create and evaluate purification technologies for isolation of DNA and RNA from multiple sample types.
- Develop class leading workflows (manual and automated) utilizing optimized enzymatic lysis, buffer chemistries, and capture matrices to drive product differentiation
- Establish meaningful performance criteria, relevant QC standards, and compatibility of purified material with downstream processes
- Apply project management skills to align/optimize internal resources
- Prepare technical literature to support production and marketing departments
- Participate in web, phone, and live activities for technical support and product training
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related fiel
- Strong molecular biology bench skills and passion for workflow development
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and bring projects to completion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to present scientific information to an audience with a wide spectrum of expertise
- Scientific integrity and problem-solving mindset
- Prior kit development for DNA and/or RNA purification (preferred)
- Experience (preferred) with NGS workflows, qPCR workflows, and advanced nucleic acid analysis tools/methods

New England Biolabs (NEB) is inviting applications for the position of Development Scientist I/II.
