The Director of Operations will develop, implement and maintain a portfolio management strategy and oversight plan that meets the company's board-defined business objectives and portfolio performance and profitability expectations.
The Director will also prepare routine reporting on the results specific to actions taken in support of the plan and observed issues and/or opportunities.
The Director supports the company's mission and vision and its ability to compete, grow and win the motorcycle, powersports, RV, and marine finance markets.
Essential Functions:
Develops and implements effective collections and customer service strategies, policies, and procedures to maximize recovery rates while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines.
Analyze delinquent accounts and collaborate with the team to formulate appropriate action plans for debt recovery.
Manage relationships with external agencies, partners, and vendors involved in the collections process.
Collaborates cross-functionally with other teams.
Third Party Oversight of BPO.
Review and refine communication scripts and approaches to enhance customer interactions while collecting outstanding debts.
Implements available technologies, automated workflows, and alternative data sources to streamline workflow, process and long-term staffing requirements.
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth of the assigned functional teams and/or departments and the organization.
Oversees specific operations of the company and the work of relevant management personnel.
Leads employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication to individual roles and work product.
Evaluates performance and operational cost-reduction opportunities by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
Prepares reports for SVP of Operations and other key stakeholders in all matters of importance.
Remains current with required trainings, to include AFSA.
Portfolio reporting
Essential Knowledge, Skills&Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of financial services operational management experience (preferably in auto, powersports, RV or Marine) at an independent finance company or financial institution
Advance Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in collections management (Loan Servicing), with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of debt collection regulations, laws, and compliance.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze collection data and derive actionable insights.
Proficiency in using collection software and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
Demonstrated ability to drive results, meet targets, and adapt to changing business environments.
Problem-solving skills and a strategic approach to decision-making.
High level of integrity and ethics in dealing with sensitive financial matters.
