    Purpose of Job:

    The primary role of the Buyer is to locate and procure products and services for company utilization or resale. This includes managing both incoming and outgoing shipments of equipment, supplies, materials, and contracted services.

With ambitious expansion plans on the horizon, we are looking to recruit an experienced and proactive Buyer to enhance our procurement operations.

    Position Overview:

    In the role of Buyer, you will oversee the procurement of materials, components, and services crucial for the upkeep and repair of turbomachinery. Your responsibilities will include sourcing new suppliers, managing quote requests, conducting negotiations, and purchasing essentials for internal use or resale. Additionally, you will coordinate both the receipt and dispatch of machinery, tools, supplies, and contracted services.

    Background & Experience:

    Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in purchasing and clerical positions.

    Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to handle multiple tasks.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for effective communication with vendors and colleagues.

    Extensive knowledge of turbomachinery parts, products, and services is highly desired.

    Proficient in ERP systems, MS Word, and Excel.

    Ability to work independently and follow through on job requirements.

    Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards is highly desired.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Supplier Relationship Management: Evaluate and select suppliers capable of providing top-quality parts and services for turbomachinery maintenance. Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers to secure a reliable and efficient supply chain.

    Procurement: Formulate and execute procurement strategies to acquire the necessary materials, spare parts, and services for turbomachinery maintenance. Work closely with internal stakeholders to align procurement with specific operational needs and technical specifications.

    Cost Negotiation and Management: Secure advantageous terms and pricing with suppliers by negotiating effectively. Regularly perform cost analysis and develop cost-reduction strategies without compromising on quality.

    Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of all purchased items to ensure compliance with our turbomachinery standards. Address any quality discrepancies with suppliers swiftly and effectively.

    Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with the logistics and operations departments to guarantee prompt delivery of components and materials required for projects. Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess.

    Basic Job Responsibilities:

    Process PO requests to qualified vendors for quotes for service, product, and material purchases.

    Oversee contract agreements with vendors.

    Research and locate items for purchase, assessing availability, delivery timelines, specifications, and potential alternatives.

    Assist the Sales Department in material pricing to prepare accurate quotes.

    Research historical purchasing data to support sales and ongoing projects.

    Ensure engagement with qualified vendors and establish credit terms.

    Handle purchasing requirements across various departments.

    Expedite orders to meet project deadlines.

    Oversee the entry of received goods into the ERP system and manage invoice processing.

    Coordinate with planners and supervisors to schedule deliveries and ensure project timelines are met.

    Organize logistics for project-related shipments, including arrangements for trucks, cranes, large forklifts, and rental equipment.

    Monitor and evaluate supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery reliability.

    Update and monitor the PO Log daily to track all open POs through the purchasing cycle.

    Proactively respond to potential delays in receiving shipments and communicate any delays to the Planner, Supply Chain Manager, and relevant department heads.
