- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally and exercise tact and discretion in relationships with district personnel, parents, contractors/vendors, and the general public.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and demonstrate organizational skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides).
- Experience with the Synergy Student Information System (SIS) preferred
- Willingness to keep abreast of changing technologies and to assume new responsibilities required by the introduction of new services.
- Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
- Answer phone calls and emails for the elementary office.
- Assist students, staff, parents, and office visitors.
- Update/maintain principal's calendar and work with principal to create building calendar of events.
- Schedule use of building facilities in Master Library.
- Create purchase orders for elementary building, order and maintain office supplies, and oversee internal accounts.
- Collect, review, and submit timesheets to the business office.
- Coordinate substitute coverage for building staff.
- Submit conference request forms and make travel arrangements for principal and staff.
- Enroll new students into SIS.
- Maintain student records and process student records requests.
- Enter student attendance and discipline into SIS.
- Submit pupil accounting documentation for district desk audit in the fall and spring.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and school information, adhering to all privacy policies and regulations.
- Administer medications, provide first aid to students, and create health plans for students with medical needs.
- Member of building MERT team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Oaktree Elementary Building Secretary
Summary: The building secretary provides office support and assists in coordinating a broad range of functions within the elementary school building. Under the direction of the building principal, the building secretary facilitates a continual flow of contact with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the public, while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. At the guidance of the principal, performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
Work is performed throughout the facilities of the district. There is limited exposure to physical risk.
Terms of Employment
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
CONTRACT TERMS: Contracted position through GECS. 47-weeks a year, Monday through Friday, (7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.), paid holidays, and personal / sick days provided annually.
COMPENSATION: Compensation based on experience ($ $17.00 per hour)
