    • $105.00 per day (7.5 hours) - Day-to-Day Substitutes
    • Higher rates available for long-term assignments
    The Genesee Intermediate School District is looking for both day-to-day and long-term Substitute Secretaries. Substitute Secretaries provide office support in a school office or department. Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
    • Performs secretarial and clerical tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, which may include answering the telephone, taking appropriate messages, data entry, scanning, filing, and typing of correspondence.
    • Completes bookkeeping/accounting tasks as assigned. This may include maintaining department payroll and attendance records in accordance with district standards identified in the Payroll Procedures Manual.
    • Responsible for greeting and providing building guest assistance.
    • Demonstrates use and application of equipment in the assigned area (i.e., computers, printers, and document scanning, etc.).
    • Serves as a team member in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
    • Assists building/program staff as needed.
    • Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
    Qualifications:
    • Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in typing, word processing and business practices.
    • Above average knowledge of language skills, particularly in areas of spelling, punctuation and proper English usage.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Publisher and other applications as well as data entry and data management skills.
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, highly demanding environment.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to function effectively with minimal direct supervision and make minor office decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and to work cooperatively in daily interactions with staff, general public and service clientele.
    • Broad knowledge of office procedures and office machines.
    • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to varied responsibilities.
    • Present a neat and professional appearance.
    • Work history and reputation of being habitually supportive of peers, of habitually maintaining outward composure, being positive and working effectively and efficiently with supervision.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, reach high and low, lift and carry 40 pounds.
    • Must pass criminal background check as required by the School Safety Legislation.
