    Ingredion is hiring for a Business Development Manager within our Food Systems platform with a focus on the Savory market.

    The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth of Ingredion's Food Systems portfolio in the Systems and Ingredient Solutions (SIS) business.

    This role will focus on developing commercial business opportunities to contribute to overall Food Systems Opportunity Funnel.

    Manager, Business Development will be responsible for identifying and qualifying target customers and partnering with the Sales team to grow revenue with target customers.

    As a member of Go-To market Team, will also be proficient in value propositions of Food Systems portfolio and solution selling mindset.

    Core Responsibilities


    Spearhead sales development (opportunity development and execution) of Food Systems solutions to customers and prospects, including effective introduction of new products, technologies and processes, to obtain new business in support of Food Systems platform.

    Identify and research new/ under-served customers in collaboration with the sales-team and create new opportunities with these customers with the goal of increasing revenue and/or the size of the commercial opportunity pipeline.

    Where appropriate, directly manage account relationships in alignment with or under direction of Ingredion sales management.
    Explore customer needs and new markets to generate value for the customer and the company.

    Partner with functional teams (including sales, technical, platform and segment marketing,) to build and execute against Food Systems strategic growth initiatives for customers and prospects.

    Identify customer/markets needs i.e. innovation opportunities. Hunt for new opportunities to enable the launch of new products and services.

    Lead business development discussions, with customer/prospects' R&D, technology/innovation, marketing groups or procurement as needed, to establish projects/opportunities, in conjunction with the account teams where they exist.

    Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the food market and the competitive environment to facilitate business development efforts.

    Pro-actively provide market and competitive intelligence to appropriate internal teams.

    Support the sales team with a high-level understanding of the Food Systems portfolio, its value propositions and available resources, functioning as the subject matter expert including for new product launches.

    Ensure close alignment with other platform teams with regards to business plans, including campaigns and market development opportunities.

    Network at industry events to build knowledge and identify new prospects and lead the follow up of trade show leads applicable their segment of territory.

    Qualified Candidates Will Have

    Bachelors' Degree in food science or other relevant scientific, engineering, or business discipline.
    Significant direct and practical customer-facing business development, sales, marketing and/or technical experience in food or specialty ingredients.
    Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written, gravitas and relationship building capabilities.
    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required.
    Working knowledge of food and related industries' product development and sales cycles.
    Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
    Must possess the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
    Available to travel domestically approximately 30%.
