Job Description/Summary
The Access Coordinator delivers high quality, seamless customer service into all levels of outpatient care. This person exhibits strong organizational skills and communicates regularly with leadership throughout the organization. The Access Coordinator manages time effectively and maintains clear, concise documentation while working effectively with a hybrid team.


Responsibilities

  • Manages high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner;
  • Obtains relevant behavioral and physical health history and schedules first appointment using electronic record;
  • Collaborates with internal treatment program directors to ensure efficient workflows and minimize access delays;
  • Communicates regularly with billing department regarding insurance verifications and clinician credentialing;
  • Assists clients/families in need of insurance by linking to PBHG Clinical Care Coordinator;
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and respects the privacy and rights of callers;
  • Uploads hospital records or any other relevant documents into the electronic record;
  • Acts as a community resource to all community members and partners who contact the access department;
  • Cross trains in Adult and Children and Family Departments as well Substance Use Services;
  • Receives and processes requests for services from alternate routes: i.e., PESS, other crisis referrals, and Rutgers Post-Partum Mood Disorder (PPMD) Program;
  • Attends weekly outpatient clinical meetings and provides relevant information including internal and external waits for intakes, referrals from PESS, CREST, and Rutgers PPMD Program, as well as community referrals with acute needs.

Qualifications:


  • Education Bachelor's Degree in the human services field, such as Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a related discipline
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team;
  • Excellent customer services skills and ability to communicate in a trauma informed manner;
  • Desire and ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultures, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds;
  • Experience (1) year in behavioral health services.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organization and computer skills necessary.
