Under the general direction of the Senior Landscape Architect, this employee acts as a Resident Engineer administering contracts concerned with the planning, design and development of landscape architectural elements including, but not limited to planting, irrigation, minor paving and drainage, grading, erosion and sediment control. Provides assistance and consultation to other Resident Engineers and Senior Transportation Engineers concerning the landscape architectural elements of their projects. Consultation is provided in areas such as planting and irrigation systems including related infrastructure, erosion and sediment control measures, earthwork operations, and aesthetic features affecting ongoing road construction projects.
This employee must maintain their Professional Landscape Architects license as a Resident Engineer.

Working Conditions
Position located in San Jose, Santa Clara County.
While at their base of operation, employee will work in a climate-controlled field office under artificial light. The Senior Transportation Engineer will set working hours. Overtime and night work may be required, and vacations may be restricted, during peak times of the construction project.
While in the field, the incumbent will be exposed to loud noise, dust; extreme weather conditions at the project sites. Project sites can be rural and remote or in urban locations.
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
