Job Description
Job DescriptionChief Operating Officer
Executive-level position with significant responsibility for the management of the firm's business operations and the supervision of its attorney and non-attorney employees.
Oversees all aspects of the firm's operations, including finance, legal production, HR, and marketing.
Reports directly to the Owner/President and collaborates closely with the executive team on strategy, planning, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise staff to ensure a high level of performance and compliance with firm policies and procedures.
Oversee the production of legal case work and ensure that the firm is providing quality and timely legal services.
Manage the firm's human resources department, including recruitment, retention, and onboarding.
Ensure that the firm's business systems, policies, and procedures are documented and followed.
Monitor the firm's financial performance and ensure that it is profitable.
Oversee expansion and new office openings while managing growth along with staffing for these new locations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a professional services firm, with experience in law firm budgeting, legal production, and HR.
Strong leadership, management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
