The GovOps Division of Finance is seeking a new Data Research & Analysis Officer to help maintain the integrity, quality, and status of data in the production systems supported by the Financial Information Systems (FIS) team.

    This position may be filled as either an Accountant, State Finance or a Senior Accountant, State Finance, depending on the skills and qualifications of the chosen candidate.

    As the Data Research & Analysis Officer, you will:

    Maintain the integrity, quality, and status of production systems data supported by the Financial Information Systems (FIS) team.

    Ensure that chart of account coding and other FINET coding elements have been properly tested, set, and validated during any project implementation.

    Review testing work conducted by the FIS Quality Assurance team to ensure that application and database updates do not negatively impact production systems.

    Coordinate with the FIS Systems Operations Supervisor to act as the FIS production system gatekeepers to approve and verify all data changes before implementation.

    Coordinate with the Assistant State Comptroller and Agency Functional Contacts to validate all coding elements for new and or modified interface requests during the non-prod environment testing.

    Develop, modify, and manage the Division's data flowcharts for processes within our production systems.
    Perform root-cause analysis and implement solutions.
    Coordinate with the FIS Systems Operations Supervisor to monitor our System Assurance jobs and troubleshoot/resolve issues as needed.

    Assist Financial Reporting, State Data Warehouse and other areas in the Division as needed for any data-related questions, concerns, or discrepancies.

    A Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Information Systems or 5+ years of related work experience.
    The drive to become the Data expert for FIS Operations/ Statewide ERP solution (FINET) and other FIS systems.
    Experience in Financial ERP solutions.
    Experience in data validation (especially financial coding data) in computer systems, ensuring that data/financial coding remains valid.
