    Description

    Our client is a leading provider of tunneling and underground construction services for major transportation projects. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Tunnel Estimator to join our team on a large-scale underground transit project.

    Job Summary:

    The Tunnel Estimator will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate and detailed estimates for tunnel construction, excavation, and other related activities on a large-scale underground transit project. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in tunnel estimating and cost estimating, with a strong understanding of tunneling methods and technologies.

    Responsibilities:

    + Develop and maintain accurate and detailed estimates for tunnel construction, excavation, and other related activities

    + Prepare estimates for bids, proposals, and change orders

    + Collaborate with project engineers, designers, and contractors to ensure accurate and complete estimates

    + Conduct site visits to gather information and data for estimating purposes

    + Develop and maintain detailed estimating templates and spreadsheets

    + Assist in the development of budgeting and scheduling for the project

    + Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams on cost estimating and budgeting

    + Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to cost estimating

    + Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders

    + Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in tunnel estimating

    Requirements:

    + 10+ years of experience in cost estimating, with at least 3 years of experience in tunnel estimating

    + Strong understanding of tunneling methods and technologies

    + Experience with estimating software such as Trimble Estimating, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or similar

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

    + Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
