    Description

    QA Engineer

    Job Description

    Startup Software Organization is looking to expand its QA Engineering team.

    If you are enthusiastic about an engineering culture with a spirit of continuous improvement in all aspects of building products, this is the spot for you

    Attributes:

    • track record of developing and implementing QA processes, technologies, and developing automated testing
    • with git and a high-level programming language such as JavaScript or Python, etc (environment consists of TypeScript, , Selenium, and Jest)
    • with a variety of different testing techniques and when to apply those different techniques
    • with effective time management in remote working environments and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
    • solving problems and collaborating with others to solve those problems
    • with the downsides of both under-engineering and over-engineering, and developed an appreciation for working pragmatically
    • seek clarity, and as much simplicity as the underlying problem domain will allow
    • realize the real project work happens when the last 20% is being completed - the handling of edge cases, errors, and interesting scenarios is where the real magic happens

    Duties:

    • developing, and managing the overall QA strategy
    • continuous improvement projects
    • quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest (and implement) actions for improvement
    • automated end-to-end tests across our full product suite
    • product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction
    • a variety of tools to discover and root cause issues, including SQL to extract data, browser dev tools, and web request tools (e.g. Postman)
    • bug reports and working to reproduce those bugs

    Experience

    • years of QA experience
    • level experience in manual testing
    • experience is a plus, particularly in Selenium WebDriver
    • with Gherkin, or any other BDD testing framework a +
    • have experience with a JavaScript testing framework (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, Karma, Ava etc)
