    Position Summary

    Each semester 2nd year students in the School Psychology Graduate Program enroll in a Field Practicum course and 3rd year students enroll in an Internship course.

    Instructors are needed for one section of each course each semester with the Internship instructor also coordinating student internship preparation


    Job Responsibilities Field Practicum Supervisor:
    1) Prior to the start of each semester, assist the School Psychology Graduate Program in the placement of graduate students with a supervisor at a regional school site
    2) At the beginning of each semester, assist the School Psychology Graduate Program in practicum preparation training
    3) During the semester, hold one virtual field-practicum group supervision meeting each week. These meetings will last 1 hour.
    4) Throughout the semester, monitor practicum student activity logs and completion of field-practicum activities and reports. Maintain communication with practicum students regarding their performance on these activities.
    5) Throughout the semester maintain communication with field supervisors regarding practicum student performance and needs.
    6) Complete a mid-semester evaluation of practicum student progress in collaboration with the field-supervisor.
    7) Throughout the semester, maintain communication with the program director
    8) At the end of the semester, complete a final evaluation on all field-practicum reports

    Job responsibilities Internship Supervisor

    • During the Fall semester, work with 2nd year school psychology graduate students to help them find internships. Coordinate with state and regional school districts who want to advertise their internship site potential.
    Provide resources to students for successful communication, development of strong vitas, obtaining strong letters of recommendations, and the overall application process

    • During the Spring semester, assist 2nd year students in preparing for entering internship (assignments and expectations, logs, supervisor evals, contracts, praxis preparations), and individual support as needed.
    • During both Fall and Spring Semesters, monitor and log 2nd year student progress on research requirements
    • Prior to 3rd year students starting their internship year, monitor completion and submission in Canvas of Internship Information form and Internship Affiliation Agreement; Contact field-based internship supervisors with program expectations; In collaboration with the program director, set up individual internship action plans as needed and share with field-based supervisors
    • During the internship year, develop a syllabus and schedule related to all internship requirements and schedule monthly online group meetings to discuss internship experiences and expectations; Provide individual student support as needed;
    • Engage in regular communication with internship field-supervisors and address individual student concerns as needed; Monitor the accurate completion and submission of three internship logs each semester within the program Canvas site; Collect Supervisor Evaluations at the end of each semester. Review and score all internship report requirements within the program Canvas site.
    • Maintain communication with the program director (clarify program requirements to be shared with students; notify of any concerns with students obtaining and being prepared for internship; notify of any concerns regarding students and/or internship supervisors) and problem-solve different situations that may arise

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

    Minimum Qualifications
    1) Doctoral or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
    2) Currently employed or recently retired as a school psychologist.
    3) Active NC licensure in the area of school psychology


    Preferred Qualifications
    Recent experience as a practicing school psychologist and previous experience as a school psychology field-practicum supervisor.
