    POSITION SUMMARYData Processing Analyst#s primary responsibility is to manage all of the electronic data entry and exchange for the patient accounting system. #This includes and is not limited to charge entry, payment posting, remit follow up, third party vendor contracts for the transfer of electronic data from the Medical Center to any third party payer. #Data Processing Analysts work closely with the various department managers and billing staff to assure an accurate and up-to-date charge master in order to maximize reimbursement.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:

    High School Diploma or equivalent.##Successful completion of data entry, 10-key, and general clerical standards administered by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Human Resources staff.


    License/Certificates:

    N/A Special Skills and Aptitudes: Ability to perform routine and complex procedures Ability to recognize problems, identify the cause and implement solutions Ability to deal with others in a courteous and tactful manner Ability to properly operate all equipment required for this position
    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESMonitors, reviews and enters data generated by all departments.

    May do data entry of all payments received for services. May do data entry for all necessary adjustments and refund requests to patient accounts. Keeps reports of all charges keyed by date of posting. Assists with data entry of patient registrations and corrections. Monitors charges by department to avoid misplaced charges. Works with Department Managers, Coding, and Billing to match charges with appropriate billing codes to maximize reimbursement. Maintains accurate inpatient census by room number to create room charges. Works with computer service vendor to adapt to intermediary changes. Prints and maintains reports used by various departments. Prints all itemized statements, billing forms, and monthly statements. Uploads all statement files to third party vendor for processing. Updates charge master as instructed. Enters daily patient and insurance receipts # adjustments. Does data entry of all payments received for services. Works with computer software vendor to adapt to intermediary and commercial insurance changes. Process daily insurance listing. Enters daily patient and insurance receipts. Responsible for downloading electronic remittance advices. Creates electronic files for billing. Reviews insurance remits for accuracy and reports errors. Assist with account reconciliation. May review and enter data charges generated by all departments. May assist with billing and registration functions to ensure accurate claim submissions. Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when#other duties are assigned.
