Position Summary

The Senior Data Analyst will abstract, analyze, interpret, and report clinical, financial and program performance data. The data presented supplies information for management decisions related to clinical initiatives, competitive landscape, performance, and profitability. This position will maintain effective and responsive relationships with leadership and key stakeholders.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or related field or equivalent professional experience.

Five to Seven years of work experience in a data-driven professional setting (payor organization, clinic, hospital, med-tech, public health, etc.) as a data analyst.

Healthcare industry experience preferred
Database management and database structure experience
Experience with electronic medical records system (Epic)
Knowledge of CPT, ICD10 and HCPCS codes
Prior experience with a healthcare business office
Prior experience with CMS data analytics
Prior experience with third-party and government insurance billing
Experience in patient billing systems


Special Skills and Aptitudes:
Experience and general knowledge of financial general ledgers, monthly budgets and financial reporting in a health care system
Five to Seven years of work experience in a data-driven professional setting as a data analyst
Experience analyzing and managing large data sets
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of data querying techniques, especially SQL, MS SQL and MS Excel Programming
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Power BI/Tableau for report creation, publication, distribution, and permission/security administration
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)
Experience working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Essential Responsibilities

This position designs and conducts primary market research projects, analyzes internal and external data, prepares reports, and supplies information for management decisions.

Understand underlying business operations, data, data capture processes, and system integration to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Assist with gathering and analyzing data from internal and external sources.
Lead the implementation and on-going maintenance of analytic tools.

Develop and run SQL queries and other data collection techniques to support assigned business areas (revenue cycle, financial, clinical, quality and marketing) and organize the data into a format for ease of review and use.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, test and modify reports, spreadsheets and dashboards. Develop and maintain documentation related to data sources, data definitions, report and analyses logic.
Perform research needed for service line expansion initiatives including mapping, demographic analysis, profitability projections and competitive analysis.
Perform ROI analysis to track results, measure effectiveness, and support business recommendations.
Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
